Short coffee is created using a bulk coffee bean bag. Originally aluminium, the packaging is used to make a plaster mold which, produces this ceramic version.
The base of short coffee 2 is left unglazed and instead, is treated with organic beeswax. This layer of wax seals off the raw ceramic and prevents absorption of any liquids that might stain the base. The beeswax gives the base a tan color and a sweet smell!
Heir Ceramics are made by hand. Even though these pieces are created in molds, each is trimmed, cleaned, and glazed uniquely. Some pieces have small imperfections that give quirky character.
