How is value assigned? More and more our culture of consumption is fixated on instant satisfaction. Disposability is in. In stark contrast to this, I’m curious about the heirlooms that families pass down, the things that have a story.
Ceramics embody a past interaction, visible on the surfaces and understood when held with the hands. The forms are familiar but contrast the material and finish. The works play with our expectations and perceptions of the objects we consume. These new perceptions foster new values that encourage imperfection, intimacy and connection.
